virtual exibit artist Edgar Mueller
My virtual exibit is all about the artist Edgar Mueller. He is an amazing street artist. He has been called the chalk guy, but generally will block of a section of a street and paint. His work almost always involves people standing around it to make it more real and he draws inspiration for new paintings from comments on his website, http://www.metanamorph.com. I go to his page regularly just to see if he’s done anything new. Beside my older brother Mueller is my favorite artist.
Project series: The Caves
Geldern, Germany
August, 2008
During construction works in the German Village Geldern another Cave appeared which is very identical to the one in London. Also in a small Village in Slovenia such a mysterious Cave was discovered. In both Caves a green lightning comes out of the Cave’s Lake but it is much more intensive. It is still unclear what energy source causes the glow.

Edgar:
Painting an eagle consisting of water, rising from a geyser has been a vision of mine for ages. The ArtPrize© Event has presented an opportunity for me to bring him to life.
This project here at ArtPrize© is about transformation of the earth, life and the conflicts of the world. One must challenge themselves to create and reinvent life’s direction. I find that one must fight with mind, body and soul to express our thoughts away from trained routines.

I really like this guy. He has done an art that I don’t think too many people have thought about before. When chalk drawings come to mind you think about how children in the street. When I was researching Street Art in Tucson I came acrossed chalk drawings in a neighborhood near downtown Tucson. That drawing had nothing on this guy. I cant even imagine that amount of effort that it would take to create something like this. I don’t even know how he can envision it in his head and then compensate for it on the ground. This was well done, you help me find new artist to follow.
Well done. Despite you being nervous to go up and talk in front of everyone , you did a good job of conveying the material. I know that we touched on this artist in class, but you did a great job of refreshing us with the material. I enjoyed the many pictures that you had. It would make my day to be in Europe and to stumble a crossed this guy. I am truly pleased to read this posts which carries lots of awesome pictures, thanks for providing these kinds of information.
I really like the artist you chose to do your virtual exhibit on, Jenny. His work is simply incredible! The colors he uses forms the 3D affect very well. I have never seen anything like this in real life, but I think it would be awesome if I could. And I’m sure his photos just don’t do justice for his work. Like you said in your presentation how the art he creates flows in with the surroundings. You know, they have similar artwork everyone once in a while at Park Place Mall where anyone can go and use their artist abilities for viewers. Nothing like Mueller’s though!
I have never had the opportunity to see any of Edgar Mueller’s works and they are absolutely amazing! His works look so realistic its amazing! I love that you already knew so much about him before you were given the assignment and I can definitely understand why he is your favorite artist (other than your brother). The 3D effects are amazing! I really liked the way you had it set up, with the pictures of the works and then the date and place for when and where each one was done. Great job Jenny!
I always found this type of art to be extremely beautiful and interesting. It is just crazy how on a 2D plane you can draw, paint something that is 3D and make it look so realistic. I loved all the pictures that you chose, but my personal favorite would have to be caves that seem to be melting away, it is just so powerful and mind blowing. You did an awesome job in choosing this topic and made it very interesting. Great Job!
Jenny,
Your project was amazing, I knew a little about this type of street art but you showd me more than I thought existed. Edgar Mueller is someone I never had heard of but you did a great job showing off his work. I understand that your nervous in fromt of people but your presentation was a little quick. Thanks to you (and Professor K) I am going to keep an eye out for more street art such as the 3D drawings and yarn bombings.
